Custom Wheelchair Ramps for Easy Access over Raised Landings
Stairs and raised landings pose a formidable challenge for wheelchair users. Ramps are designed to overcome this issue. Ramps provide easy access over steps, raised thresholds, and landings for wheelchair or mobility scooter users. Wheelchair ramps include custom, modular and portable ramps. National Seating & Mobility offers custom wheelchair ramp systems for homes, institutions, and commercial buildings. One of the main advantages of these ramp systems is that they are lightweight and portable, and can be carried along anywhere. These extremely durable systems can also be easily installed and removed quickly.
Top Custom Wheelchair Ramp Models
The top three types of wheelchair ramps available are the aluminum series, steel series, and wood series-
- Aluminum series – Featuring a code-compliant mesh design, this type of ramp allows for natural drainage. It features a multi-weld fabrication process that ensures less deflection of the ramp surface. The aluminum ramp system is strong, durable and comes with an 800 lbs load capacity. It can be easily installed within hours. The 2” safety curb on two sides of the device ensures safety and prevents the wheelchair from rolling off.
- Steel series – With a total weight capacity of 800 lbs, this ramp system can also be quickly installed. It features a modular design (to allow any virtual configuration) and comes with an ADA compliant 36″ width along with textured finish for slip resistance. Other features include: galvanized silver handrails, textured open mesh surface, vertical picket handrails and unique welded cone-mounted hand rail design.
- Wood series – When compared to steel or aluminum ramp systems, wood series complements outdoor decks and patios. The device can be easily installed and comes with a unique leg design that maximizes structural integrity. This ADA-compliant 36″ width model features pressure treated wood to prevent rotting. It can be painted or stained to match any deck or porch.
