Seat Elevation Congressional Sign-On Letter Sent to CMS
In last month's Monthly Minute, we asked for your assistance to contact your House Representative and ask them to sign-on to the CRT Congressional letter to CMS.
We want to give a big thank you to all the organizations and individuals who worked on getting 77 members of the House of Representatives to sign-on to this important letter because on October 6, 2021, the letter was sent to CMS!
The letter, which can be read here, urges CMS to quickly proceed to the next step in the review process for establishing Medicare coverage of Power Seat Elevation and Standing Systems.
Reps. Jim Langevin (D-RI) and Don Young (R-AK) led the letter, which was delivered to CMS with strong bipartisan support (49 Democrats and 28 Republicans). The signers include 14 members of the House Committees that oversee the Medicare program. Click here to view the final list.
We sincerely thank Rep. Langevin, Rep. Young, and their House colleagues who signed on to urge CMS to prioritize the request for needed access to this important CRT. If your Representative signed on, please be sure and send them a thank you email. We want to keep them engaged as we move forward.
The work to secure Medicare coverage will continue in collaboration with the ITEM Coalition and other CRT stakeholders. This strong show of Congressional support is a very positive step in improving access to these important technologies for people with disabilities.

NSM Elevates Accessibility at Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival as Official ADA Sponsor
National Seating & Mobility served as the official ADA sponsor of the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, drawing thousands of festival goers to The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, Tennessee, last month. NSM’s sponsorship, the second as official ADA sponsor of the festival, funded ADA Accessible Viewing Platforms throughout the venue, ensuring that attendees with disabilities had the opportunity to view and enjoy the two-day experience.
“We were proud to serve as the official ADA sponsor of the Pilgrimage Festival again this year,” said Bill Mixon, NSM CEO. “Our continued partnership represents the importance of making incredible events like this welcoming and accessible to all.”
NSM-sponsored accessible platforms were constructed around festival stages, offering concert goers with disabilities unobstructed views of performances.
“We are appreciative of the partnership with NSM that helps us deliver a comfortable and entertaining experience for Pilgrimage guests with disabilities,” said Brandt Wood, Pilgrimage Festival co-founder. “Sponsorships like this one make it possible for us to bring the celebration of all music to all music lovers.”
This year’s festival drew 25,000 attendees with performances from Maren Morris, The Black Keys, Cage The Elephant, Dave Matthews Band and more than 50 additional acts appearing on five stages. NSM’s sponsorship included event signage and exposure on the festival website (www.pilgrimagefestival.com), the official festival app and through Pilgrimage social channels.
This was the sixth year for the festival in Franklin, where NSM’s corporate headquarters is also located.
